Co-Founder & Managing Partner

Anand Trivedi serves as a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Nepean Capital. With over 24 years of extensive experience in the Indian and broader Asian financial sectors, he brings 16 years of dedicated investment expertise across both public and private market segments. Previously, Mr. Trivedi held the position of Managing Director and Head of GE Private Equity in India, where his focus was primarily on investing in Indian mid-cap companies exhibiting robust growth prospects. Before his tenure at GE, he managed funds at Nicholas Applegate Capital Management in Hong Kong, with a specific investment mandate for India and Asia. His earlier career also includes roles within the Equity Capital Markets divisions of Lehman Brothers and ABN AMRO Rothschild in Hong Kong. Additionally, Mr. Trivedi was responsible for Principal Investments at Shinsei Bank in India. His corporate background includes a four-year stint with the Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions team at Reliance Industries Ltd. Mr. Trivedi currently holds board positions at Extramarks Eductions India Pvt. Ltd. and UFO Moviez India Ltd. He has also served as a Board Observer for a number of portfolio companies, including Sygene Ltd., Control & Switchgears Ltd., Lemon Tree Hotels Ltd., Sudhir Gensets Ltd., and Oriental Structural Engineers Ltd. Academically, Mr. Trivedi holds an MBA from Columbia Business School, alongside a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mumbai University.

Gautam Trivedi serves as a Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Nepean Capital. His extensive career spans over 26 years within the Indian and Asian financial sectors. Previously, he held the position of CEO at Religare Capital Markets, a prominent Indian investment bank. During his tenure, he initiated innovative initiatives such as 'The Great India Roadtrips,' which involved comprehensive market analysis in Tier 2 and 3 cities, as well as rural areas across India. Prior to Religare, Mr. Trivedi was a Managing Director and Head of Equity Distribution at Goldman Sachs India, and also served on the board of Goldman Sachs India Private Limited. He transitioned to India from Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong, where he was an Executive Director on the Asian Equities team. Earlier in his career, Mr. Trivedi dedicated four years to the Corporate Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions division at Reliance Industries Ltd., India's largest company by market capitalization. His professional experience also includes roles at DSP Merrill Lynch, CLSA Asia, and Jardine Fleming in Hong Kong. Mr. Trivedi holds an MBA from the University of Southern California (USC), and earned his Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce degrees from Mumbai University. He is recognized as an Aspen Institute fellow and currently presides over the USC Marshall Alumni Association in Mumbai. He is a board member for several organizations, including Collective Artist Networks, Extramarks Education India Pvt. Ltd., Landmark Cars Ltd., Maddock Films, and UFO Moviez India Ltd. Furthermore, Mr. Trivedi contributes to the India Advisory Board of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Outside of his professional activities, he is an enthusiastic traveler and documents his journeys through written accounts.
