With approximately three decades of distinguished experience in the financial services sector, Ashish brings a wealth of expertise to capital markets. His professional journey includes significant roles such as Portfolio Manager & Head – Portfolio Management Services at Deutsche Asset Management, and VP & Portfolio Manager – Offshore Funds at Kotak Asset Management. Subsequently, he served as Head – Portfolio Management Services (International) & Senior Fund Manager at SBI Funds Management Pvt Ltd. During his tenure, Ashish was instrumental in establishing one of India's largest offshore fund management operations. He successfully launched and managed numerous offshore funds domiciled in key international financial centers including Luxembourg, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and the USA. The offshore funds under his management garnered accolades in Japan for sustained long-term performance. Ashish's comprehensive knowledge encompasses equity research, stockbroking, offshore fund management, portfolio management, and advisory services. He also contributed a regular column on the Indian markets to a prominent Japanese financial daily. His most recent corporate role was with Tata Asset Management, where he held the positions of Head – Strategy and International Business, as well as Head – Portfolio Management Services and Principal Officer. On September 2, 2019, Ashish transitioned to entrepreneurship, founding EquiPoise Capital Management Pvt Ltd, with a core focus on investment advisory and offshore advisory services. Reflecting on his motivations, Ashish states, "My personal involvement in raising and managing funds for international investors spans nearly two decades. While foreign fund assets under custody exceed USD 400 billion, representing approximately 21% of India's market capitalization, this figure remains modest when viewed in the context of their global scale and the significant opportunities India presents. Concurrently, only a small fraction, roughly 2-3%, of Indian citizens hold mutual fund accounts, and their overall financial savings exposure is also limited. These observations were the impetus for establishing EquiPoise, with a mandate to deliver enhanced value to both domestic and international investors, enabling them to actively participate in and derive substantial benefits from India's economic growth." – September 2, 2019. Since the inception of EquiPoise, Ashish maintains a vigilant oversight of companies and the capital markets, while actively encouraging direct engagement from investors. He cultivates strong relationships with all clients and is personally dedicated to safeguarding their financial well-being. Ashish holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree from Ramnarain Ruia College, University of Mumbai, and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, University of Mumbai.
